Tess is a partner in Headleys, and a Family and Children’s law Solicitor, based at our Hinckley office. She is head of our family law team.
Tess qualified in 2000, after completing her law degree at Bristol University, and Legal Practice course at the University of the West of England, Bristol. She joined Headleys in October 2025, after a long career as a Principle solicitor, and then as a partner in a large Leicestershire Firm.
Tess is highly experienced in all aspects of family law. She is known for being warm and approachable, and with an ability to guide clients to a positive resolution, and navigate challenges with clear advice, and attention to detail. She endeavours to ensure clients feel empowered, and knowledgeable about their matters and choices. Clients have noted she is a good listener, empathetic, and professional. Many of her clients come back to her for further matters in life, and many are through recommendation. Tess regularly represents clients in court, offering seamless care throughout the case.
Tess has a disabled child, giving her a unique insight into the particular needs of families with disabled family members. Whether that be for child arrangements on separation or divorce, financial settlements that take into account the needs of a disabled family member, planning in Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorneys and Deputyships.
Tess has represented all members of the community including parents, grandparents, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and deaf clients.
