Headleys’ Principal, Kevin McCole is joining forces with other members of the McCole family to undertake a mighty bicycle challenge in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society later this year. Kevin, along with his daughter, his brother, two brother-in-laws and various nieces and nephews are banding together to cycle from Lands End to John O’Groats – covering a distance of 1,012 miles – or as commitments, or indeed, fitness allows, various elements of the ride, culminating in the whole team raising as much as they can for this extremely worthwhile cause.

Kevin, who has not ridden a pushbike for some years, is dusting off the Lycra® and plans to undertake his 400 mile stretch from Moffat in Scotland to the finishing line at John O’Groats. Training, he says, has commenced.

“We’re having a family meet up in the near future to decide on our plan in more detail and will announce how people can make donations and offer any other support they can shortly,” Kevin confirmed.

The challenge – which has now been adopted as Headleys’ official charity for 2015 – is scheduled to take place in June 2015. Watch this space for next month’s update.
